Not only did Marvel Studios‘ massive Hall H presentation at Comic-Con International in San Diego confirm that “Spider-Man: Homecoming’s” big villain is, indeed, the Vulture, it provided attendees a glimpse of the character in action.
A stylish cut of some high school footage was shown, to the audience, highlighting different times in Peter Parker’s day in high school — leading to him having to excuse himself to act as Spider-Man. A classmate seems to be on to him — “Where do you have to go, Peter,” she asks in an accusatory manner — before admitting that she doesn’t actually care where he’s going. The footage ends with a quick glimpse at the Vulture in action, though the actor playing him was not discernible.
For those unable to make the trek to Southern California, Marvel has debuted Ryan Meinerding‘s concept art for the character, capturing Spidey in battle with his winged foe.
Directed by Jon Watts, from a script by “Vacation’s” Jonathan M. Goldstein and John Francis Daley, and starring Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Michael Keaton, Zendaya, Michael Barbieri, Kenneth Choi, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Martin Starr, Hannibal Buress, Abraham Attah, and many others, “Spider-Man: Homecoming” is slated for a for a July 7, 2017 release.
