"Captain America: Civil War" directors Anthony and Joe Russo have reportedly signed on to produce a television series based on "Deadly Class," the Image Comics series by Rick Remender and Wes Craig.

Deadline reports the Sony Pictures TV adaptation, written by Remender and Miles Field, will be shopped to cable networks and streaming services.

Launched in 2014, "Deadly Class" is set against the backdrop of the late '80s at King's Dominion High School for the Deadly Arts, where the children of the world's worst crime families send their children to be trained as assassins.

Remender had hinted in December that both "Deadly Class" and "Black Science," the sci-fi adventure he created with artist Matteo Scalera, might be heading to television.

Best known as the directors of "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," "Captain America: Civil War" and the upcoming "Avengers: Infinity War," the Russo brothers have served as executive producers of such TV series as "Community" and "Happy Endings."
