The gang from Riverdale will soon be wearing a few more black leather jackets.

Today at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Archie Comics announced "Archie Meets Ramones" -- a miniseries teaming the all-American teens with America's most legendary punk bank.

The comic will be co-written by Archie's Alex Segura (who previously wrote the well received "Archie Meets KISS") and Matthew Rosenberg (who previously crossed comics and music in projects like Black Mask's "12 Reasons To Die") and drawn by the artist Gisele.

"Working on something like 'Archie Meets Ramones' is not only surreal, but too good to be true," Segura said in a statement. "Like my co-writer Matt Rosenberg and artist Gisele, I'm a huge Ramones fan. Having the band crossover with Archie seems perfect and completely insane at the same time. Fans can expect a fun, rockin' and heartfelt extra-sized adventure that will stand up there with some of the best Archie crossovers ever. Which is saying a lot!"

The seminal band of New York's defining punk scene, the Ramones were active from their '70s heyday through the mid '90s, however all original members have since passed away. The bands likeness are controlled by Ramones Productions Inc. -- a company ran by Johnny Ramone's widow Linda.

The series is expected to arrive in 2016 to celebrate both Archie's 75th anniversary and the Ramones 40th.
