A lot of Predator fans were  excited when Fox revealed this teaser image, hinting that something big was coming for Comic-Con International in San Diego. Although thoughts immediately went to a Predators sequel, the studio has announced what's really going on -- a December-shipping 3D Blu-ray release of the original 1987 film.

Comic-Con attendees will be able to pre-order the new set in one of two options: The basic one gets you the movie and a Predator statue, but a more expensive version nets the buyer the same statue, but with a 3D printed version of their head being held aloft by the Predator.

A press release also explained the #HuntthePrdator hashtag seen in the original teaser image: "Attendees can also participate in the “Hunt the Predator” challenge. Fans who find the Predator, take a photo and upload it to their social networks with the official hashtag “#HUNTthePREDATOR” will be entered to receive a front of the line pass at the Predator 3D booth for an exclusive 3D printed figurine."

Meanwhile, the "very big" thing Godzilla director Gareth Edwards teased for the convention seems to be a walk-through display called Godzilla Encounter, presented by Legendary Pictures. As you stroll through, you get glimpses of what Godzilla looks like as well as some collectibles and movies from the property's long history before America comes under attack and you're moved to an elevator for safety.

Collider snapped about 75 photos of the encounter's first half, which doesn't feature a solid look at Godzilla. However, Deadline did get a quick pic of one of the glimpses.

Lastly, Kaiju fan site Skreeonk scored the following piece of concept art from the film, which shows something of the scale they're working on with the giant monster.

Godzilla is scheduled for a May 16, 2014 release.
