SDCC: IDW Teases "Micronauts," "ROM" Projects

At Comic-Con International, IDW Publishing closed out its second panel of the day with a teaser image promising the return of '80s icons "Rom" and "Micronauts" in 2016. The image was also released online via the publisher's social media accounts.

While not details were given -- neither creative teams nor release dates were revealed -- both properties make sense and should fit in well alongside the publisher's licensed comics which include other '80s touchstones like "G.I. Joe," "Transformers" and "Jem."

Acquiring the rights to "Rom" has been a particular priority for IDW's Editor-in-Chief Chris Ryall for a number of years. Ryall's fandom of the space-faring robotic hero runs so deep, he commissioned a four-volume hardcover collection of the 75-issue Marvel Comics series "Rom: Spaceknight."
