SDCC: DC Comics Announces "Aquaman: Earth One" and "Batman '66," British "Avengers" Crossover

During the DC Entertainment Meet the Co-Publishers panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego, Jim Lee and Dan Didio revealed two all-new projects: "Aquaman: Earth One" by Francis Manapul and a crossover between "Batman '66" and IDW's "Steed & Peel."

"If anybody was ever born to draw Aquaman, it is Francis," DiDio said at the panel, adding that it would be a defining take on the character.

Regarding the crossover between Batman and the British Avengers, Didio explained, "'Batman '66' is locked in a period of time, and who he meets is locked into that time period. I can't think of anyone more fun to use than those guys."

This announcement comes on the heels of an "Flash: Earth One" book written by J. Michael Straczynski.
