The Boys star Jack Quaid revealed why he thinks his character in the Amazon Prime series would be able to survive a bloody encounter with Scream's Ghostface Killer.

When asked during a Twitter Q&A which character from The Boys would survive 2022's Scream, Quaid answered, "Let's see, that's a really good question. I'd say probably, maybe Hughie. And this is the reason why: I feel like Hughie would probably have watched a lot of movies. Maybe some horror movies, and would know the tropes of a horror movie."

Quaid has portrayed Hughie Campbell since Season 1 of The Boys. His character is known for being a mild-mannered, anxious guy who is trying to overcome his fears while fighting Supes alongside Billy Butcher and The Boys. While Hughie has had a handful of heroic moments, Quaid acknowledged that Hughie would not be his pick if he was depending on simply overpowering Scream's Ghostface Killer, stating, "But in terms of, I don't know brute strength, physically overcoming Ghostface, I'd probably say either Butcher or Mother's Milk. Like, if I had to choose. Cause they would just, I don't know, they would just muscle their way out of it."

While the next Scream movie will be the fifth film in the franchise, Scream franchise alum Courteney Cox teased that the film won't operate as a sequel. Cox previously stated, "This is the 5th one, it's not Scream 5 though, this is Scream. It's hip, it's scary, it's just a new Scream -- it's not a reboot, it's not a remake, it's just a brand new launch."

Few details about Scream's plot have been revealed, but it will reportedly follow a woman who "returns to her home town to try to find out who has been committing a series of violent crimes." Fans speculated that the woman in question will be Sidney Prescott.

Scream will see the return of Neve Campbell as Sidney Prescott, David Arquette as Dewey Riley, Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers and Marley Shelton as Deputy Judy Hicks. Cast newcomers include Jack Quaid, Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on Jan. 14, 2022.

Amazon Studios' The Boys stars Karl Urban as Billy Butcher, Jack Quaid as Hughie, Laz Alonso as Mother's Milk, Tomer Kapon as Frenchie, Karen Fukuhara as Kimiko, Erin Moriarty as Annie January, Chace Crawford as The Deep, Antony Starr as Homelander, Katia Winter as Little Nina and Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy. Season 3 has yet to receive a premiere date.
