Supernatural Games announced its newest game, The Quarry, and promises it will be a game-changer like its spiritual predecessor, Until Dawn.

Billed as a "thrilling cinematic tale," The Quarry is a teen horror, telling the story of nine camp councilors sharing one last night at Hackett's Quarry in Upstate New York. Players control all nine counselors and must make careful decisions as every action could determine the fate of each character. You can see the trailer below:

Just like Until Dawn, The Quarry boasts a large cast and notable cast: David Arquette, Ariel Winter, Justice Smith, Brenda Song, Halston Sage, Siobhan Williams, Skylar Gisondo, Evan Evagora, Miles Robbins, Zack Tinker, Ted Raimi, Lance Henriksen, Lin Sage, Grace Zabriskie and Ethan Suplee. The Quarry's website gives teasers for each character, though notably keeps a four -- the characters played by Henriksen, Sage, Zabriskie and Suplee -- mysteriously void of information. Three character descriptions only state, "They can't wait to meet you..." while Zabriskie's character bio simply declares, "She knew you were coming..."

In an interview with IGN, director Will Byles elaborated on the story and gameplay. He explained The Quarry is "like a circular story and each one of those characters is a spoke heading towards the middle." This means that, depending on player choices, any of those spokes can snap without affecting the overarching plot. If all characters die early, gameplay will run approximately seven hours. Byles estimates that the majority of playthroughs will run closer to 10 hours. That being said, he promises that The Quarry is highly replayable. Byles explained that after each playthrough, players receive different cards depicting the conclusion for each character. There are reportedly 187 different cards total, which illustrates just how branching and massive The Quarry really is.

Additional notable elements are the co-op and online modes. Co-op allows different players to take control of any of the nine playable characters and play along together to the story. In online mode, other players can watch a playthrough and vote for which decisions the player makes. Allowing players to play together was an essential factor to Supermassive Games, according to Byles, especially after the massive popularity of Until Dawn. "That was almost like a game/movie experience and we definitely wanted to keep that going," he said. "We weren't aware quite how social it got with other people sitting down."

The Quarry will be available to play on June 10 on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.
