Last year, writer Scott Snyder and artist Greg Capullo introduced DC readers to the Dark Knights in their Dark Nights: Metal event series. These villains were alternate versions of Batman that hailed from the Dark Multiverse. Each one of them was born of one of the worst fears of Bruce Wayne, and each one was modeled after different members of the Justice League. The most memorable -- and popular -- of these villainous characters was undoubtedly The Batman Who Laughs, who was a version of Bruce Wayne that had become altered into a Joker-like figure thanks to a special concoction of the Clown Prince of Crime's toxin. This version of Batman, complete with permanent smile and rabid Robins, was such a fan-favorite in Metal that the character is now poised to receive his own spin-off miniseries courtesy of Snyder and superstar artist Jock. But The Batman Who Laughs won't be coming alone. At Comic-Con International in San Diego, it was announced that another evil Dark Knight would make his debut in the miniseries as the title character's sidekick. While this character doesn't have a name yet, it was revealed that he would essentially be the Punisher version of Batman: a lethal killer who also has the wealth and reach of Bruce Wayne.RELATED: Scott Snyder Settles Whether Batman: Zero Year Is Still DC CanonWhile we had already gotten a peek at what the character would look like in the comic series, Snyder revealed a brand new design of the lethal Dark Knight today on Twitter. The new piece of art, by series artist Jock, features the new Batman with a veritable arsenal of machine guns on his back, as well as a more tactical version of the Bat-suit.

According to Snyder, this evil Batman is Bruce Wayne's second worst nightmare after The Batman Who Laughs. He is an "All lethal force" version of Bruce Wayne. When the character was first announced to be a part of the series, the scribe said that this was a version of Bruce who had picked up the gun of his parents' murderer -- and killed him with it.

Judging by the design of the character, we can definitely see the Punisher inspiration behind this new Batman, and we cant' wait to see what kind of horrific havoc he will wreak.
