The concept of the "Trinity" in the DC Universe has long since referred to the dynamic trio of Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman. But as writer Scott Snyder is poised to take over the reins of the Justice League alongside artists Jim Cheung and Jorge Jimenez, he plans on flipping the script -- at least a little.

Snyder hasn't been shy about his interest in spotlighting J'onn J'onnz, the Martian Manhunter, who recently returned to the main DC Universe following a conspicuous year-long absence post DC Universe Rebirth #1 in 2016. But he's not the only character the writer can't wait to help redefine in the DC Universe's new era. When asked about J'onn's relationships with the rest of the team at this year's WonderCon, Snyder had plenty to say.

"On our team, that dynamic is Kendra, J'onn and John Stewart," Snyder told CBR. "All of them are facing mysteries about their own nature. Kendra starts to realize that her origin, who she is, what she's capable of, is different than what she thought -- she's missing memories. John Stewart starts to realize that the Guardians have hidden things from him because of his skillset, what he's supposed to do. He might have been a soldier for them in ways he didn't realize. Then Martian Manhunter realizes that after the end of the Source Wall, the mysteries that are unfolding before him might be saying something about him, too."

Whether this means that J'onn with in fact be leading this incarnation of the Justice League remains to be seen, of course, but it looks like there's a new trio of heroes heading into town.
