Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo have released a trailer for We Have Demons to coincide with the book's first issue.

We Have Demons is the first creator-owned collaboration between Snyder and Capullo. The trailer for the book's debut issue spotlights Lam, a young woman who finds herself caught in the middle of a three-billion-year-old war between good and evil. After losing her hand to a copperhead snake bite as a child, Lam grows up with her pastor father and eventually becomes humanity's last hope against an army of demons.

We Have Demons is a long time coming for Snyder and Capullo, who have worked together since 2011. Speaking on the series, Snyder said, "This is a story that me and Greg have been thinking about for years, and we want you to enter this whole universe we've created and enjoy it." The series is loaded with a mix of spiritualism and science, something Snyder wishes was more commonplace. "We have to not be in these camps where science and faith are different, but it's actually one big wondrous and terrifying story."

Earlier this week, comiXology began its "Scottober" event, which is being used to launch We Have Demons, Clear and Night of the Ghoul. These three books are the first titles to come from the recent deal between comiXology and Dark Horse Comics that will see the two publishers distribute Snyder's Best Jackett Press imprint. As part of the deal, all Best Jackett titles will be available to Amazon Prime, Kindle Unlimited and comiXology Unlimited subscribers. These titles will help usher in a new era for comiXology as the company undergoes widespread changes designed to improve and streamline users' reading experience.

Best Jackett Press is an imprint spearheaded by Snyder that brings together top comics talent for new creator-owned stories. The imprint's first title, Nocterra, is a collaboration with artist Tony S. Daniel and was Kickstarted in 2020 before being published by Image Comics earlier this year. Snyder is also among the many creators to join Substack this year, though he will be not be releasing new titles through the platform.

Snyder and Capullo are known for their numerous collaborations at DC Comics, which began with the now-legendary run on the New 52 Batman. The book was a critical darling and one of the true success stories for the New 52. Over time, the two would come together again for Dark Nights: Metal and Dark Nights: Death Metal, a pair of event titles that fixed DC's damaged continuity and set the stage for DC's Infinite Frontier. Now, they're on their own in We Have Demons and are only limited by their imagination. As Snyder himself puts it, "We put a lot of work into it, and it's an intimate and robust book, but it also has all the Spawn, Batman, Heavy Metal craziness that you expect from us and us working at our peak, I hope."
