It's no surprise that Scott Snyder has long term plans for the DC Universe (his Justice League: No Justice project was announced just last week), and DC newcomer Brian Michael Bendis will be joining him for the ride.

While talking with CBR about the impending conclusion of Dark Nights: Metal, Snyder opened up ever so slightly about working with DC Comics' newest exclusive creator.

"The fact that Brian Bendis is over at DC now — I was just out at the office cementing plans into the summer, and not only what he has planned for what he’s bringing, but just the spirit of what he’s doing, the celebratory aspect, the collaborative aspect, he and I are so in sync,' Snyder told CBR. "I really feel like [Dark Nights:] Metal will be an on ramp to an incredible summer. I’m really proud of what we’re putting together."

DC Comics announced on Nov. 7 that Bendis has exclusively joined the company in a "multiyear, multi-faceted deal." The news shocked fans and industry observers, as Bendis had made Marvel his main publishing home for 17 years and is strongly associated with the brand, writing nearly all of the company's major characters with runs on series including Ultimate Spider-Man, Daredevil, Guardians of the Galaxy, All-New X-Men and New Avengers. He also co-created major characters such as Miles Morales and Jessica Jones.

Dark Nights: Metal #5, by Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo, is in stores now. Brian Michael Bendis first work for DC Comics will be a ten-page story in Action Comics #1000, illustrated by Jim Lee.
