Bryan Lee O'Malley, creator of the "Scott Pilgrim" series, announced today his next graphic novel project, "Worst World." Details are scant, but the new series will focus on protagonists Benny and Aubrey on their adventures through modern Los Angeles, according to a report from Entertainment Weekly.

"Worst World" is O'Malley's follow-up to "Seconds," a graphic novel about a chef named Katie Clay who can change the past by writing her temporal edits in a notebook, eating a mushroom and falling asleep. O'Malley is best known for "Scott Pilgrim," in which punk rocker Scott Pilgrim battles the evil exes of his love interest, Ramona Flowers, for the right to date her.

O'Malley will be bringing the "Seconds" team along with him for "Worst World," including colorist Nathan Fairbairn, who also worked on the entire run of "Scott Pilgrim" reissues, and art assistant Jason Fischer. Each book in the planned three-issues series from Ballantine Books will be sizable, pushing 300 pages.

In addition to announcing his new project, O'Malley revealed that fans can also get a cover print signed at Comic-Con International: San Diego later this week. For those hoping for a "Scott Pilgrim" comeback, it's best to let sleeping dogs lie. O'Malley has made it clear he's finished with the series.
