Bugs Bunny and Scooby-Doo are heading to Boomerang with all-new episodes, marking the first time original content has been created for the 15-year-old cable channel.

According to The Wall Street Journal, it's part of a larger deal between Warner Bros. Animation and corporate sibling Turner Broadcasting that will see the development of 450 half-hours of original programming exclusively for Boomerang.

The channel has carried reruns of cartoons from the Warner Bros., Hanna-Barbera and MGM libraries, but the hope is that original content will make Boomerang more attractive to advertisers and distributors.

"Be Cool Scooby-Doo," featuring the classic Mystery Inc. lineup, will premiere later his year, along with "Wabbit -- A Looney Toons Production." “Bunnicula,”based on the popular series of children's books, is also in development.
