After debuting on digital home video last month, the hit animated movie Scoob! is now available to stream on HBO Max.
The film is still available to purchase or rent on different digital platforms, but HBO Max has exclusive streaming rights to the reboot of the classic Hanna-Barbera property, building a new shared animated universe for the venerable animation studio.
The animated movie reveals the origins of Shaggy Rogers and Scooby-Doo's friendship, as well as the beginnings of their crime-solving business Mystery, Inc. Teaming up with Blue Falcon and Dynomutt, the gang takes on Dick Dastardly to thwart his latest sinister scheme.
Originally intended for a wide theatrical release, Scoob! was instead moved to digital HD due to the ongoing coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. While only earning a professional critics' score of 49% on review aggregate site Rotten Tomatoes, the film proved successful with home audiences, topping digital rentals charts nationwide in its first three weekends of release.
Directed by Tony Cervone, Scoob! stars the voices of Frank Welker, Zac Efron, Gina Rodriguez, Will Forte, Amanda Seyfried, Tracy Morgan, Ken Jeong, Kiersey Clemons, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs. A 4K UHD/Blu-ray release is slated for July 21.
