Arnold Schwarzenegger, whose starring roles in the earlier Terminator films made him a legend decades ago, has been vaccinated against coronavirus (COVID-19) and wants everyone to follow in his footsteps.

Schwarzenegger posted a video to his Instagram showing himself receiving the vaccine from inside his car. "Today was a good day," he captioned the video. "I have never been happier to wait in a line. If you’re eligible, join me and sign up to get your vaccine." He then dropped a line he first spoke in 1991's Terminator 2: Judgement Day: "Come with me if you want to live!"

In the video, Schwarzenegger appears to be in good spirits, sitting in his car wearing a mask as his arm is disinfected. When the shot is administered, he quips, "Put that needle down!" This is a nod to another of his films, Jingle All the Way, in which his character yells, "Put the cookie down!"

When the process is completed, Schwarzenegger thanks the healthcare professional attending him and then looks at the camera and says, "Alright, I just got my vaccine, and I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Come with me if you want to live."

Schwarzenegger starred in the first Terminator film as a villain, the robotic killing machine T-800. In its sequel, T-800 has been reprogrammed to act as a protector, putting a new dimension on Schwarzenegger's role as well as the franchise itself, which has grown to include numerous other films as well as TV series, comics and merchandise. The line "Come with me if you want to live" has recurred several times, spoken by various characters according to the context.

Although Schwarzenegger's acting career later gave way to politics, he has kept a sense of humor about his reputation as the tough guy in over-the-top action movies, and frequently makes tongue-in-cheek references to them -- sometimes even exaggerating the native Austrian accent that became one of his trademarks.

The coronavirus pandemic caused a great deal of turmoil throughout 2020, with a vaccine finally being developed at the end of the year. As the vaccine has started to be distributed throughout the United States and Europe, some celebrities are speaking out to let fans know that they have received it, or to encourage others to get vaccinated when it becomes available to them.
