Scarlett Johansson has definite ideas about what she'd like to see in the long-discussed Black Widow film.

"I love playing this character," Johansson told Entertainment Tonight on the set of Avengers: Infinity War, before reports that a Black Widow film is in development, "and I think there is definitely an opportunity to explore the Widow as a woman who has come into her own and is making independent and active choices for herself, probably for once in her life. You know, she hasn’t always had that possibility. If it fit that criteria, then it would make me want to do it."

The film has a rumored release date of 2020. There are few details about the planned project, perhaps to avoid giving fans too much information about the character's arc in Infinity War. Black Widow made her Marvel Cinematic Universe debut in 2010’s Iron Man 2, with Johansson set to reprise the role for a sixth time next month in Infinity War.
