No matter where they show up in fiction, powerful characters draw a lot of attention – and a lot of fans. It's perhaps unsurprising that one of the favorite anime characters of the year is Satoru Gojo. While not the protagonist of the shonen Jujutsu Kaisen, Gojo often steals the show. His power levels are so extreme he almost renders everyone else obsolete, and he combines his terrifying jujutsu skills with an irreverent attitude and occasionally boyish charm.

In the Marvel Cinematic Universe, Wanda Maximoff is on a similar level. Wanda's chaos magic has turned her into a nexus being and probably the strongest character in the MCU. The newly dubbed Scarlet Witch might have what it takes to defeat Gojo – if Gojo's sorcery isn't too powerful.

10 Wanda Would Win: Her Chaos Magic Can Twist Reality According To Her Whims

Wanda uses her chaos magic MCU

Wanda has changed a lot as a character throughout her time in the MCU. Her abilities proved to be remarkable even in Age of Ultron, but it's only recently through WandaVision that she has proved just how much she can do. In the Disney+ series, Wanda's grief and mental instability create an erratic pulse of chaos magic that envelops the whole town of Westview, turning it into an idyllic setting for Wanda's dream life.

Most remarkably, a version of Wanda's lost lover, Vision, is created and Wanda even has two children while inside the Hex. Her ability to twist reality according to her whims is easily one of the most destructive powers in the MCU. Within the Hex, Wanda can manipulate anything, ranging from simple things like clothing to the weather, or even time itself.

9 Gojo Would Win: Infinity Makes Him Immune To Most Attacks

Gojo with his eyes covered, grinning

Infinity is the base state of the Limitless cursed technique, a trademark of the Gojo family. The full potential of Limitless can only be unlocked by those who possess the Six Eyes rare jujutsu. Gojo is the first sorcerer in four hundred years to be able to wield these skills.

Infinity transforms the finite amount of space between two subjects and multiplies it an infinite amount of times, making the sorcerer using the technique untouchable. Gojo has demonstrated this skill in the battle against the cursed spirit Jogo. While Wanda is doubtlessly stronger than Jogo, her chaos magic may not be able to breach Infinity.

8 Wanda Would Win: Her Telekinesis Is Powerful Enough To Crush Thanos

WandaVision Scarlet Witch

One of the most remarkable moments in Avengers: Endgame is the confrontation between Wanda and Thanos, during which she almost defeats him in one-on-one combat. In a rage after Vision's death, she attacks him using her telekinesis, and her power is so great she utterly overwhelms him. He is forced to ask for aid from his ship to save himself from her fury. The strength necessary to overpower the Mad Titan would obliterate a regular human.

7 Gojo Would Win: His Cursed Techniques Can Do Devastating Damage

Gojo uses his Hollow Purple Technique in Jujutsu Kaisen

Limitless comes with more than just an almost unbreakable shield. Gojo can use several cursed techniques that are variations of Limitless. Blue generates the power to attract and can increase the speed of its user but also make the bodies of opponents explode.

Red is a reverse cursed technique and generates twice the explosive force Blue does. Finally,  Hollow Technique: Purple, combines the two, erasing anything it touches from reality. Gojo's use of Purple is particularly memorable, as it comes very close to obliterating the cursed spirit Hanami.

6 Wanda Would Win: She Has Mind-Control Abilities

Wanda brainwashing Black Widow

Wanda became one of the Avengers' most dangerous enemies because of her ability to mind-control her opponents. In Age of Ultron, she brainwashes the Hulk, leading to his rampage in Johannesburg. Her abilities only increase with time, and in WandaVision, she is able to twist the minds of the inhabitants of Westview, making them act in ways that suit her fantasy. It's a very insidious form of magic that can destroy even the most powerful people.

5 Gojo Would Win: He's Extremely Talented At Martial Arts

Gojo prepares to fight in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Gojo's cursed techniques aren't the only thing that makes him so dangerous. He's an incredibly talented martial artist, ruthlessly taking down Jogo. His prowess in hand-to-hand combat is in perfect synergy with his jujutsu skills, as Gojo has reached the point where he can rip apart Jogo's head off with a single move. He's so strong that a single kick can easily take down a special grade cursed spirit. It may not be quite as devastating as his Hollow Technique, but it's still very dangerous.

4 Wanda Would Win: She Is In Possession Of The Darkhold

Doctor Strange 2's Elizabeth Olsen Wraps Multiverse of Madness Reshoots

WandaVision's finale has Wanda in possession of the Darkhold, the dangerous Book of the Dead. An ancient book of spells created out of dark matter, the Darkhold is the equivalent of an incredibly powerful cursed object and is likely more dangerous than Sukuna's fingers put together.

The Book of the Damned contains infinite knowledge, and as a powerful witch, Wanda can fully access it. Considering the fact that in Jujutsu Kaisen, it is a cursed object that is ultimately Gojo's downfall, the Darkhold could give Wanda the edge she needs to defeat him.

3 Gojo Would Win: Six Eyes Might Be The Perfect Opponent For Chaos Magic

Satoru Gojo arrives to battle

Gojo's ability Six Eyes hasn't been completely explained, but fans have learned a few delicious bits and pieces. Six Eyes enhances Gojo's perception, allowing him to read the flow of cursed energy and through this, maximizing the potential of Limitless. Because of his mastery over Six Eyes, Gojo's cursed energy consumption is almost insignificant, ensuring he will never run out of power during a fight.

But the potential of Six Eyes goes way beyond that, as it grants the user the ability to dilate one moment in time into an expanded temporal stretch. Because of this, Gojo may be able to anticipate Wanda's every movement within the flow of her magic. Even her reality manipulation wouldn't help her, as Six Eyes may be able to see straight past all the changes she makes.

2 Wanda Would Win: Her Energy Absorption Skills Could Tip The Scales

agatha harkness - wanda maximoff

During her confrontation with the dark witch Agatha Harkness, Wanda reveals an unexpected new ability. She is able to heal herself by absorbing Agatha's energy and turning it into chaos magic. The scene also displays the first moment she fully embraces her true role as the Scarlet Witch.

This isn't something she has displayed before, so fans don't know the limits of this skill just yet. Even so, it could tip the scales in her favor, as it may turn Gojo Satoru's incredible power into a weapon to be used against him.

1 Gojo Would Win: His Domain Expansion Overwhelms His Every Opponent

Gojo inside his Unlimited Void in Jujutsu Kaisen.

Gojo's Domain Expansion, Unlimited Void, exposes its targets to endless streams of information, trapping them within the concept of infinity. Under such an assault, a fragile mind like that of Wanda Maximoff would most likely break. Of course, that may not necessarily turn out in Gojo's favor as Wanda has been proven to be most dangerous when she is at her most unstable. In the end, the battle between Gojo Satoru and Wanda Maximoff may be very similar to the clash between an immovable object and an unstoppable force.
