Actor Elizabeth Olsen recently went on record to say she had no desire in starring in a solo movie for her Marvel Cinematic Universe character Scarlet Witch, but now she's done a U-turn -- and even suggested what comic book storyline could be adapted.
Speaking to Metro, the actor revealed that "I would love to [do a standalone], and I would love it to be House Of M, which is a comic book series of The Vision and Scarlet Witch having a make-believe family."
"Then they [Vision and her family] have to tell her that she was make-believing the entire time, and she has a very traumatic experience and screams, and kills all the mutants – but that’s an X-Men story so we’d have to adjust the ending," Olsen continued. If the movie was made once -- if it goes through -- Disney acquires parts of Fox and subsequently regains the rights to characters that are in the X-Men. The deal may be closed as soon as Summer 2019, according to Disney CEO Bob Iger.
In the meantime, Olsen will be reprising her role as Wanda Maximoff in the upcoming Avengers movie, Infinity War, and potentially its sequel, too.
Directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, Marvel Studios’ Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Paul Bettany, Anthony Mackie, Paul Rudd, Elizabeth Olsen, Tom Holland, Benedict Cumberbatch, Chadwick Boseman, Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, Bradley Cooper, Vin Diesel, Tom Hiddleston and Josh Brolin, among others. The film opens April 27 worldwide.
