Elizabeth Olsen said she hasn't been asked to reprise her Marvel Cinematic Universe role of Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch on Agatha: Coven of Chaos -- yet.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Olsen was asked if there have been conversations about her appearing on the spinoff. "No, but I would love to pop up," she answered. "I love [Kathryn Hahn], I don't want to leave her side ever... she's great fun, I love her."

Olsen and Hahn first acted opposite each other on WandaVision, where Hahn debuted as Agatha Harkness, a centuries-old witch who had been manipulating Wanda Maximoff in a bid to steal her power. In October 2021, it was announced that Hahn would be headlining her own Disney+ series, later revealed to be titled Agatha: Coven of Chaos. WandaVision showrunner Jac Schaeffer and writers Peter Cameron, Cameron Squires and Laura Donney will all return for the spinoff, which is being described as a dark comedy. Coven of Chaos is expected to release sometime in late 2023.

The Fate of Scarlet Witch

As for Olsen, her future with the MCU is unclear at the moment. Wanda famously acted as the primary villain in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which ended with her seeming death when she sacrificed herself to bring down Mount Wundagore and destroy all versions of the Darkhold across all reality. However, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige says fans may not have seen the last of the Scarlet Witch. "I don’t know that we saw her under rubble?" he said. "I saw a tower coming down and a little red flash. I don’t know what that means...There really is so much more to explore. We still haven’t touched on many of her core storylines from the comics. Anything’s possible in the multiverse! We’ll have to see."

Outside of Agatha, Marvel is continuing to expand its stable of magical characters. The Werewolf By Night Halloween special will not only introduce Gael García Bernal as the MCU's first lycanthrope but also Laura Donnelly as monster hunter Elsa Bloodstone alongside the swamp-dwelling Man-Thing. The studio also continues to develop Mahershahla Ali's Blade, although the film recently suffered a setback with director Bassam Tariq stepping down from the project.

WandaVision is available to stream on Disney+. Agatha: Coven of Chaos is expected to release in late 2023.
