It's about time for a MacGyver resurrection.
The action-adventure series, which aired on ABC from 1985 to 1992, starred Richard Dean Anderson as Angus MacGyver, a gifted special agent who used his brain to get himself and others out of plenty of jams. MacGyver spawned a pair of television movies, a recurring Saturday Night Live skit-turned-feature film MacGruber and even an Image Comics miniseries.
But it's not finished yet, as Variety reports New Line Cinema has a feature adaptation in the works that James Wan just might direct. Wan, who's known for his horror work like Saw, Insidious and the upcoming film The Conjuring, revealed last month at New York Comic Con that he'd like to move into other genres.
No details have been revealed about the script, which was first written by James Richman and most recently reworked by Mark and Brian Gunn (Journey 2).
