Fans of the Saw franchise can get excited as the tenth entry into the gore-infested horror series has a release window.

News of the upcoming film first came to light in an article by Bloody Disgusting, which also states that studios Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures will once again be teaming up to produce the film. Familiar face and beloved Saw franchise member Kevin Greutert will also return to the director's chair. Greutert is most notable for his work on Saw VI and Saw: The Final Chapter, also serving as an editor for the first five films, along with 2017's Jigsaw. The movie is scheduled to release in October 2023.

While details of the movie are largely unknown, Twisted Pictures has promised to create a unique, thrilling experience with bizarre new traps and an original storyline that will captivate viewers. "We have been listening to what the fans have been asking for and are hard at work planning a movie that Saw aficionados and horror fans alike will love," said Oren Koules and Oren Mark Burg, producers of the Saw franchise. "And part of that is giving the reins to Kevin Greutert, director of Saw VI, which is still one of the fans' favorites in the entire series. More details will be revealed soon."

The announcement of Saw 10 comes a little over a year after the 2021 release of Spiral: From the Book of Saw, the ninth installment in the mainline Saw series. The film, which features notable actor and comedian Chris Rock, was initially set to come out in May 2020. However, it was pushed back by over a year due to concerns from the COVID-19 pandemic. The horror flick received mixed reviews, with many critics divided on the success of the franchise's new direction. Spiral also performed poorly at the box office, making only $40.6 million on a $20 million budget.

Saw is a horror franchise created by filmmakers James Wan and Leigh Whannell that was first released in 2004. The franchise mainly revolves around the murders committed by serial killer John "Jigsaw" Kramer and has become notorious due to its use of violent and bloody torture devices. These contraptions are mainly used on unsuspecting victims that Kramer sees as corrupt or not appreciative of life. Despite receiving mostly mixed and negative reviews, the series is immensely successful, grossing over $1 billion worldwide and cementing the Saw franchise as a baseline for many fans of the horror genre.

The tenth Saw movie does not yet have a release date.
