WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Season 1 of Saved by the Bell, available on Peacock.

The revival of the beloved sitcom Saved by the Bell has finally hit Peacock, and while the show is definitely more self-aware, it still brings back most of the cast fans know and love from the 1989 to 1992 series. Still, the main focus of the reboot is a new class of students at Bayside High, some of whom are the children of the original show's characters. Here’s a rundown of all the major new and returning characters in the Saved by the Bell revival.

Zack Morris

Zack (Mark-Paul Gosselaar) was the scheming golden boy in the original Saved by the Bell. He didn’t always seem like the smartest person in the room, yet he did extremely well on his SATs and ultimately went to college, married his high school sweetheart, Kelly Kapowski, and became a trial attorney. By the time the reboot catches up with him, he’s been elected governor of California, an office he sought for the sole purpose of getting out of a parking ticket. It’s his actions that sets the plot of the revival in motion, as his budget cuts lead to under-funded California schools being shuttered and students from those schools coming to better-funded schools, like Zack's alma mater Bayside High.

Kelly Morris

In the original series, Kelly (Tiffani Thiessen) was the most popular girl at Bayside and in a love triangle with Zack and Slater. She ultimately picked Zack and their relationship is still going strong. In the revival, she’s recently launched a company, which she explains is more of a "wellness brand." To the consternation of actual doctor, Jessie, she’s also dubbed herself a "doctor of optimism" and makes product recommendations as part of her business.

Jessie Spano

Saved By the Bell 2020 - Elizabeth Berkley Lauren as Jessie Spano header

Jessie (Elizabeth Berkley Lauren) may be best remembered for a caffeine-pill addiction, but there was a whole lot more to her than that. Jessie was a high-school overachiever who aspired to go to Stanford University and cared about political and social issues in ways few of her peers did. In the revival, she’s lived up to that promise, not only earning her PhD in educational psychology and becoming the school counselor at Bayside, but also writing over a dozen best-selling books. Unfortunately, she isn’t quite as successful in her personal life. While she’s married, her husband seems to spend more time away than at home, which leaves her to parent her son Jamie on her own.

A.C. Slater

A jock in high school who was especially good at football and wrestling, A.C. Slater (Mario Lopez) was also a bit sexist. As an adult, he went back to Bayside, this time as the physical education teacher and football coach. Unlike when Slater was in high school, though, Bayside’s football team no longer wins much -- or at all. Slater has remained single, but still carries a torch for Jessie, who he dated on and off in high school. In fact, he seems to want to recapture his high-school years in general, which leads him to show off his sweet, sweet '90s dance moves to the kids he now coaches.

Mac Morris

Zack and Kelly’s son Mac (Mitchell Hoog) aspires to follow in his father’s prank-filled footsteps. Although he doesn’t have a steady love interest like his dad did in high school, at one point he competes with Jamie over a girl. While Mac often acts shallow, this hides deeper issues, especially related to all the time his father spends away from home because of his job.

Jamie Spano

Jamie (Belmont Cameli) is Jessie’s son, and though he’s a sophomore in high school and the quarterback of the football team he still likes his mother to make him snacks and sing to him. Jamie is more of a sensitive soul than a tough jock or a smart nerd. He meets with his team to talk out his feelings and his idea of an inspiring pre-game speech includes the observation “winning does not matter.” Still, Jamie is a good guy and eventually wins over fellow football player Aisha, who he dates for part of the season.

Lexi

The most popular girl in school, Lexi (Josie Totah), has shared her journey coming out as transgender on a reality show. She’s best friends with Jamie, who she also secretly has a crush on. Although she softens and develops empathy throughout Season 1, she still maintains a mean-girl streak.

Daisy

Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) is a transplant to Bayside from the underfunded Douglas High. She’s essentially the Zack of the revival, complete with an old-school brick cell phone and the ability to pause the action with time outs, but her personality is a lot more like Jessie's. Not only is she an overachiever, when she becomes the president of the sophomore class, she works to change the things that are unfair about Bayside from the inside, ultimately befriending many of the rich kids and convincing them every student should have the same advantages they do.

Aisha

Another former Douglas student, Aisha (Alycia Pascual-Peña) is popular and exceptionally good at football. While she played at Douglas, she’s a true stand-out on the less-accomplished Bayside team, where Slater appoints her starting quarterback over Jamie. Unlike the rest of the team, Aisha has a real desire to win, and won’t let herself have pizza after their many losses because "pizza is for winners." Despite all that, she and Jamie click and soon start a romance.

Devante

When former Douglas student, Devante (Dexter Darden), first comes to Bayside, Slater tries to recruit him for the football team, but what Devonte really wants to do is sing. He tries out for the musical and gets the lead, something he’d never do in his old school because it would hurt his reputation. While Devante acts like he doesn’t care about anything, his time at Bayside makes him more willing to fight unfairness and stand up for himself.

Principal Ronald Toddman

Mr. Belding, the principal Zack tortured during his high-school years, no longer works at Bayside, which means the school has a new hapless leader: Ron Toddman (John Michael Higgins). Principal Toddman betrays a quiet desperation when dealing with his spoiled students and their entitled parents. His attempts at being cool are often a failure, but ultimately he has his students' best interests at heart.

Lisa Turtle

In high school, Lisa was the rich and obsessed with fashion. While she only appears briefly in the reboot during a video call with the old high-school gang, she has a good reason: she’s in Paris, where she works as a fashion designer.

Peacock's Saved by the Bell stars Elizabeth Berkley Lauren, Mario Lopez, Mark-Paul Gosselaar, Tiffani Thiessen and John Michael Higgins, as well as newcomers Belmont Cameli, Dexter Darden, Mitchell Hoog, Alycia Pascual-Peña, Josie Totah and Haskiri Velazquez. The series is now available on Peacock.
