Together, The Justice League has defeated immeasurably powerful threats in their extensive time as comic book heroes. From smaller threats like Starro, all the way to Gods like Darkseid, The Justice League has managed to combine their efforts to overcome virtually every obstacle thrown their way. However, the team has certainly hit a few bumps along the way as well, even within their own ranks. For as well as the League works when they are together, some members occasionally take things a bit too far. To look at some specific examples, here is our list of the 10 most savage things the Justice League has done to each other.

10 For Tomorrow

Superman: For Tomorrow was a miniseries by Brian Azzarello that followed Superman as he tried to discover a group of humans who had mysteriously vanished for over a year. Though the series was met with mixed reviews from fans, it’s aim was always to offer a modern, more in depth look at the Superman character. However, in his plight to find this group of people, Superman realizes that he may not be able to return.

With this in consideration, Superman still decides to go for it, leading to an altercation with him and Wonder Woman. Even though everything worked out in the end, Superman still casually dumped a lot of responsibility on his fellow Justice League members. Furthermore, having to take down Wonder Woman only added to the sting of his departure, firmly landing For Tomorrow on this this list.

9 Endgame

Towards the end of the New 52 era, the Joker launched one of his biggest attacks against Batman yet. Starting with the Justice League, Joker managed to mind control each member and set them after Batman. Thankfully though, Batman had a suit of armor that he “borrowed” from the Court of Owls, helping him in his fight against the League.

While it certainly helped that they attacked Batman one at a time, Batman still savagely took each and every one of them down. In the end, Superman was the only one who didn’t suffer a totally humiliating defeat. Though Bruce has also done far more savage things to the League, this assault on them is still one of his more brutal actions.

8 League of One

Justice League: A League of One is mostly a Wonder Woman story. After a magical presence begins to threaten all of earth, Diana decides that she is the only one who can stop it. Furthermore, since her colleagues don’t fully understand the workings of magic, they are all at a greater risk.

Yet, since the Justice League constantly tries to back each other up, Wonder Woman is eventually forced to subdue each of them in order to face the threat alone. In the end, everyone makes up once again, but it doesn’t change the fact that Wonder Woman took down the entire Justice League in one of the most savage displays of power.

7 Trinity War

Though The Justice League has done several intense things to each other over the years, nothing really compares to the time when three different Leagues fought each other all at once. In the events leading up to Forever Evil, The Justice League, Justice League of America, and Justice League Dark all came into a conflict with each other.

Though many members of all teams were acting out of character due to a powerful magic spell, the members were still dealing out some pretty powerful blows. While Forever Evil would see more damage dealt to the teams overall, Trinity War still sees some pretty intense savagery between members of various Justice Leagues.

6 Throne of Atlantis

As one of the more popular Aquaman stories in modern times, Throne of Atlantis focuses heavily on the conflict between Aquaman and Ocean Master. As Ocean Master’s plan begins to take action, Aquaman is led into a conflict with the Justice League who is worried about Aquaman’s role in Atlantis’ potential takeover.

As a result, Aquaman is put into direct conflict with the rest of the League, even going so far as to attempt to strangle Batman. While things were eventually smoothed over, it still goes to show that Aquaman has a lot of fight in him that many may not give him credit for.

5 Flashpoint

Even though Barry Allen didn’t intend to alter the entire DC timeline, he still made some drastic changes, especially in regards to his teammates. In what is known as the Flashpoint timeline, Bruce Wayne is dead and his father is Batman instead. Furthermore, Superman’s rocket is discovered by the government instead of the Kents, meaning that Superman never even saw the sun growing up.

However, arguably the worst thing about the Flashpoint timeline is the conflict between Wonder Woman and Aquaman. After a lot of drama between the two, Atlantis and Themyscira started a war that put the entire planet at risk. While Barry certainly may have meant well, his actions led to one of the deadliest interpretations of DC heroes to date.

4 Zero Hour: Crisis in Time

Shortly after Superman made a triumphant return to the living, Hal Jordan began a descent into madness. After coming home to find his home city decimated, Hal became susceptible to the influence of Parallax. After this, Hal Jordan himself launched one of the greatest attacks against the DC Universe, ever. This event became known as the Zero Hour: Crisis in Time.

Throughout the event, Hal orchestrated some of the most maniacal and deadly attacks against his former teammates. Thankfully, the Justice League would once again emerge victorious, but not without feeling the full force of what Hal Jordan is capable of.

3 Hiketeia

Batman is often regarded as one of the few people who can take down Superman. However, when it comes to Wonder Woman, The Dark Knight has suffered one of his more humiliating defeats. After Wonder Woman agrees to harbor and protect a wanted criminal in Gotham, she is led to an altercation with Batman, who is there to bring her in.

Wonder Woman, intending to keep her promise, fights against Batman, even taking him down rather easily. Considering the lack of trust these two had in each other during this story, the savagery almost goes both ways, with a bit of an added sting against Batman.

2 Tower of Babel

No act in DC canon has arguably been more savage than in JLA: Tower of Babel. In this storyline, Batman’s files on other members of the Justice League are stolen and used against them, nearly killing every member of the League in the process. Though Batman’s actions are arguably justified to some degree, the events that took place still shattered the League’s trust in him, resulting in his expulsion from the League (for a brief time).

Granted, Batman himself didn’t directly enact these actions against his teammates. However, the fact that he acquired that much information on them in the first place only proves just how savage it all truly was.

1 Injustice

As arguably the darkest and most brutal interpretation of the Justice League, the Injustice universe is full of all sorts of horrifying and atrocious acts of violence between League members. Throughout the comic series, all sorts of betrayals take place, along with various acts of violence, including murder. Characters like Green Arrow, Huntress, and Nightwing are all brought to a rather violent end, all at the hands of someone who was once considered to be an ally.

In the overall series, any number of events could apply on this list alone, however, for how savage all the actions are, it is easy to see why the events land as the most savage things the Justice League has done to each other.
