WARNING: The following contains spoilers for Savage Avengers #14 by Gerry Duggan, Patch Zircher, Java Tartaglia, and VC's Travis Lanham, on sale now.

The Savage Avengers have split up to hit the ancient Marvel sorcerer Kulan Gath from two fronts. One of the teams is on their way to recruit the Punisher for a mission down south while the rest are about to try and wrest an ancient artifact from an Asgardian dragon. To do so, Conan and Magik have gone in search of Cain Marko,  the Juggernaut, hoping that he's really as unstoppable as he says. They don't have to search very long to find the Juggernaut hanging out at the Bar With No Name, a supernatural dive bar, but they might want to brush up on their Simpsons trivia if they want to get in.

The Bar with No Name is exactly what it sounds like, and it's a little bit more than that, too. The New York location of the Bar with No Name moves around, and its exact location only being available through word of mouth. Acting as a watering hole for supernatural beasts, down on their luck villains and any other sort of monster, cretin or henchman looking to drown their sorrows, the Bar with No Name is usually a peaceful place to pass the time for what would ordinarily be very violent patrons.

Bar With No name

Aside from being an all-around good time, the Bar with No Name is also a great place to lay low and blow off some steam when you've had a long day of knocking down buildings or fighting Hulks, which is exactly what Cain Marko is doing there. Conan and Magik are plenty aware of the bar and finding it is easy enough, but getting in is far more tricky. It seems that there's a secret password to get inside and the bouncer isn't intimidated by X-Men or Cimmerians. Of course, he's also staring down two people that everyone should be very reasonably intimidated by, he just doesn't know it until after Magik blows the door down by force.

The duo made it to the bar, got inside and found Cain Marko. But before they leave, Magik still wants some to tell her the password. With the doorman suspended in one of her magic bubbles, she demands to know what the secret word was to get in, and the bouncer replies with quote from The Simpsons. The password turns out to be "Here's to alcohol: The cause of, and solution to, all life's problems." It's a quick throwaway gag in an issue full of them, but it's probably the most appropriate password that the Bar with No Name could have chosen.

The phrase comes from an early episode of The Simpsons. In the Season 8 episode "Homer vs. the Eighteenth Amendment," Homer makes a stand against prohibition after it comes to Springfield following a raucous St. Patrick's Day celebration that leaves the underage Bart drunk and stumbling through town. The phrase draws cheers from the adoring crowd, and in classic Simpsons fashion ended up creating a moment that would be referenced across all of pop culture for decades to come.

While it's not clear if Magik appreciates the reference, she simply responds with a "Cool, cool," before going on her way.
