After being absent from the franchise since 1991's Terminator 2: Judgement Day, original star Linda Hamilton is about to make her return in a major way in this year's Terminator: Dark Fate.

Paramount's official Instagram account has released a new official still from the upcoming sequel showing Hamilton reprising her role as Sarah Connor, the mother of future resistance leader John Connor who will ultimately defeat the sentient machines run by SkyNet.

Hamilton starred in James Cameron's Terminator in 1984 as Sarah opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger's murderous T-800. Apart from a small vocal cameo in 2009's Terminator: Salvation, Hamilton has been absent for the subsequent sequels in the sci-fi franchise. The character plays a prominent role in the first trailer for Dark Fate, single-handedly rescuing the film's new characters from a villainous Terminator targeting a teenage girl for currently unknown reasons.

Directed by Tim Miller and produced by James Cameron, Terminator: Dark Fate stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Linda Hamilton, Mackenzie Davis, Gabriel Luna, Natalia Reyes and Diego Boneta. The film opens November 1.
