Writer G. Wilow Wilson and artist Nick Robles have signed on to join Neil Gaiman's Sandman Universe series, The Dreaming. The announcement was made at New York Comic-Con at the DC House Of Horrors panel by current story supervisor Simon Spurrier, who also announced his departure from the series.

"I'm so proud and blown away by everyone's reaction to it, and I'm kind of heartbroken to be stepping away from it," Spurrier said. He then welcomed the new creative team to the stage, exclaiming how excited he is for the two of them to take over.

Wilson then took the mic, explaining that she was on a book tour when she got a call from Chris Conroy. He put her in touch with Neil Gaiman and she immediately accepted the position.

"What was funny about that conversation was that I walked outside kind of in a daze after it was over and I looked at the mountains and I had this wave of deja vu," she said. "Because the very first time that I read Sandman at a good friend of mine's house in high school, I was in Longmont, Colorado," the same place she received the offer.

The panel also shared a new piece of art from the series.

G. Wilow Wilson is best know for her graphic novel Cairo and for relaunching Ms. Marvel in 2016. She is currently nearing the end of her run on Wonder Woman. Nick Robles' work includes War of the Realms and Doctor Mirage.

The two will start their tenure with the series with The Dreaming #19.
