Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery Controversy

Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery's relations were reportedly strained because of an ongoing dispute regarding Netflix's payment terms, wherein the streaming giant paid producers over the course of 18 to 24 months. Sources claimed Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav was displeased with the process and shared his discontent with an unspecified number of key personnel at Warner Bros. Discovery, which reportedly impacted the company's day-to-day operations. This allegedly included the implementation of a temporary partial embargo on Netflix, wherein Zaslav forbade his teams from selling finished shows to the streaming giant for the next few weeks.

"It's an odd way of looking at it," said an anonymous insider at Warner Bros. Discovery. "It's obviously the way the industry works and has worked with Netflix. He's paid big numbers [by Netflix] and the company has been happy with that. It's like he suddenly discovered what the payment terms were."
