Neil Gaiman has officially revealed the English voice cast and release date for Audible's upcoming audio drama adaptation of his beloved Vertigo Comics series The Sandman, with none other than X-Men alum James McAvoy leading the charge as main protagonist Morpheus, aka Dream of the Endless.

Audible's The Sandman is slated to arrive on July 15. In addition to McAvoy as Morpheus, the full cast -- shared by Gaiman on Twitter -- includes Riz Ahmed as the Corinthian, Kat Dennings as Death of the Endless, Taron Egerton as John Constantine, Samantha Morton as Urania Blackwell, Bebe Neuwirth as the Siamese Cat, Andy Serkis as Matthew the Raven and, last but not least, Michael Sheen as Lucifer Morningstar. As previously announced, Gaiman himself will also serve as the narrator.

Vertigo's Sandman follows Morpheus, the King of Dreams, and the people and places he's affected, as he tries to mend the cosmic and human mistakes he's made during his Endless existence. According to Gaiman, the Audible audio drama adapts the character's first three graphic novels -- Preludes & Nocturnes, The Doll's House and Dream Country. Preludes & Nocturnes is also currently being adapted for the first season of Netflix's upcoming Sandman television series, though production is on hold at the moment.
