Well, Thursday was a busy day at Comic-Con International in San Diego. Thursday’s are generally the lightest days at CCI, but today certainly didn’t feel light. Even with wider aisles than last year the place was packed! And the question everyone keeps asking, “What will Saturday be like?” I guess we only have to wait two days to find out, but man oh man, you don’t need us to tell you it’ll be packed. Here are some photos from the convention floor on Thursday, May 17th.

“NEVER cross the streams…” James Robinson
Crossgen’s Jeff Johnson and Greg Land Man of Action, Joe Casey
Wow, another Man of Action, Joe Kelly Nat Gertler of About Comics
“Were we this stiff in the movie?” “Was I this stiff in the movie?”
Every year we take a picture of this guy and every year we have to question why we do such things. Like we said yesterday, this won’t be the last of the Star Wars costumes you see.
“So, I went to Comic-Con wearing, like, no clothing!” “NO WAY! So did I! It was soooo cool!”
Purple Dude with Muscles. Big Muscle Guy with Purple Woman, not related to Purple Dude.
Some Penthouse Pet. Got the picture, forgot the name. Trashbag Guy of some sort.
“Youngblood’s” Brandon Thomas I have no idea what this booth is for.
This group freaked me out. Hello (Star Wars) Ladies!
Across the street from the southernmost portion of the convention they’re building a new baseball stadium for the San Diego Padres. As always, Star Wars dudes and dudettes a plenty at Comic-Con International.
Steve Leialoha Eisner Nominee Tyler Page of “Stylish Vittles.”
Ahh, unique Star Wars characters: Outback Trooper and Elvis Trooper! Here’s an odd thing. The costumes even make it outside! These two are pimping for a sushi restaurant in the adjacent Gaslamp District.
Alex Ross and Paul Dini
