SAN DIEGO, DAY 1: Watch Out: Here Comes Lobster-Man!

Lobster-Man, Lobster-Man, does whatever a ... no, we're not kidding.

Thursday's Spider-Man panel at Comic-Con International in San Diego was long on opportunity for fans to ask all their questions of the Spider-Man creative teams, although light on new information.

Except, that is, for a few choice tidbits dropped by "Amazing Spider-Man" writer J. Michael Straczynski about upcoming issues of the series.

While JMS has been exploring who exactly Peter Parker is with stories featuring a greatly stripped-down cast, he's begun to return more of the supporting cast to the pages of the series, a trend that will continue as he starts to explore his next line of thematic inquiry: Who exactly Spider-Man is.

And, in the meantime, art imitates art, as Mary Jane Watson, girl next door-turned-superhero's wife-turned-actress is in a starring role in a new super-hero movie in Hollywood, where Peter and Aunt May have arrived as of the latest issue of ASM, seeking to patch up Peter's and Mary Jane's relationship.

And in the movie, MJ plays the love interest of ... The Amazing Lobster-Man. Hooray for Hollywood.
