The Marvel Cinematic Universe is about to gain the most powerful superhero it has ever seen in Captain Marvel and, according to Samuel L. Jackson, the MCU's version of the character will have a surprising new ability.

In a new interview, the longtime MCU actor claimed that this version of Carol Danvers, unlike the comic books, will be able to travel in time, setting up her appearance in Avengers: Endgame.

"[Captain Marvel is] pretty much the strongest character -- in terms of someone with powers are able to do things -- in the Marvel Universe," explained Jackson in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. "We know that we need something that's as powerful as Thanos. And at some point, we'll find out how powerful she is and all the things that she's capable of. She's one of the few people in the Marvel Universe that can time travel, so..."

If true, Carol's new ability not only explains how the character is able to appear over 20 years later, during the events of Endgame, but also how the Avengers may be able to rally and undo the effects of Thanos wiping out half of all life in the universe with the Infinity Gauntlet. Either way, it would be a completely new power for the high-flying superhero.
