The one-time highest-grossing film actor of all time, Samuel L. Jackson has already had a busy year, with roles in such features as Kong: Skull Island, xXx: Return of Xander Cage and the upcoming Avengers: Infinity War. However, he still has time to plot his first starring role on a television series.

Deadline reports Jackson will play the lead role on Old Man, an adaptation of the 2017 spy thriller by Thomas Perry. Jackson will star as Dan Chase, a seemingly harmless widower living as a retiree in Vermont. However, it turns out he's actually a former Army intelligence agent who's lived life as a fugitive for more than 35 years, following a botched mission in Libya. But now, just when it seemed as if he was safe, Chase once again finds himself a target.

Developed by Fargo executive producer Warren Littlefield and Black Sails co-creator Jonathan E. Steinberg in conjunction with Fox 21 Televsion Studios, Old Man is being pitched to multiple major cable networks and streaming platforms.

According to Deadline, the project has already gained significant interest due to Jackson's star power and the Littleield/Steinberg team-up,and multiple offers have already been made.
