It's nothing we didn't already expect, but still, it's at least official now: Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana are back for more Avatar. Deadline reports the actors behind Jake Sully and Neytiri have closed their deals to reprise their roles in James Cameron's next three Avatar films.

Worthington and Saldana were previously contracted for two Avatar sequels, but when the franchise was expanded to include Avatar 4, renegotiations were called for. Those negotiations have ended, the dotted lines have been signed, and now Worthington and Saldana are the second and third locked and loaded, officially confirmed cast members, right behind the returning Stephen Lang as Colonel Quaritch (even though he died; that'll be interesting).

Avatar 2 is set for release in December 2016, with subsequent sequels eyed for 2017 and 2018.
