He may have abandoned Spider-Man, but director Sam Raimi isn't done with comic book movies just yet; he's just signed up to adapt Radical's Earp: Saints For Sinners for DreamWorks.
Earp places Wild West lawman Wyatt Earp as the lawman in a dystopian (of course) future Las Vegas. The comic was co-created by Matt Cirulnick and Mandeville Films' David Manpearl (Mandeville is producing the movie for DreamWorks), with Cirulnick co-writing the comic with M. Zachary Sherman and writing the movie script solo. Does that mean that the movie is really a comic adaptation, or just that the comic is proof of concept for the movie pitch...? I'm unsure, but either way, Raimi is sold: He'll direct the movie after his next project, Oz, The Great And Powerful.
