In addition to the news of this special release, the game has been remastered for the Nintendo Switch by the original Telltale development team. The team opened up the original source assets from 2006's Sam & Max Save The World and went to work completely updating every component including lighting, textures, audio and resolution.

The video game series started as a comic book in 1987 and has gone through many renditions over the years. Sam & Max creator Steve Purcell got his start working for LucasArts in the early '90s and passed his original comic strips of the detective duo around the office. Eventually, word got out to LucasArts CEO who decided to develop their likenesses into the adventure game Sam & Max Hit The Road. Since then, Sam & Max have been featured in many zany storylines that solidified it as one of the most enduring adventure video game franchises.

Sam & Max Save The World is available to pre-order now and arrives Dec. 2.
