When it comes to comic book characters, Samuel L. Jackson has become synonymous with the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Nick Fury -- but his interest in comics isn’t limited to Marvel.
Yesterday, comic creator Jason Latour tweeted an interview in which Jackson reveals that Southern Bastards is currently his favorite comic. Latour co-created Southern Bastards with Jason Aaron. His past credits include a long list of other comics published by Image, Dark Horse, DC and Marvel, where he co-created Spider-Gwen.
The interview with Jackson is part of the press promotion for the upcoming film Glass, in which Jackson plays Elijah Price.
In his tweet, Latour wrote, “Okay Southern Bastards is Sam Jackson’s favorite comic. I am DEFINITELY in my own Endgame now.”
Jackson most recently appeared as a younger version of Fury in Captain Marvel, which took place in the 1990s. His friendship with Carol Danvers will bring her to Avengers: Endgame, as he is the one who pages her during the post-credits scene in Avengers: Infinity War.
Southern Bastards is published by Image Comics. There are 20 issues in print and four trade paperbacks.
