'Salem' Summons New Trailer Teasing Epic Witch War

WGN America is released a full-length trailer for "Salem" that heralds the coming Witch War in the second season.

Created by Brannon Braga and Adam Simon, the supernatural thriller reimagines the infamous 17th century witch trials in colonial Massachusetts.

As the 13-episode season opens, ruthless witch Mary Sibley (Janet Montgomery) has just completed a deadly supernatural ritual that unleashed a devastating plague on the town. As death and disease continue to spread through the war-torn village, she must face off against adversaries old and new, from within Salem and beyond. Meanwhile, former war hero John Alden (Shane West) returns to Salem to stop the woman he loves before she can destroy everything and everyone around her.

Lucy Lawless, Stuart Townsend, Joe Doyle and Oliver Bell join a cast that already includes Montgomery, West, Ashley Madekwe, Seth Gabel, Tamzin Merchant, Elise Eberle and Iddo Goldberg.

"Salem" returns Sunday, April 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on WGN America.
