Casio Baby-G is collaborating with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon to release a new watch themed around Sailor Moon's iconic transformation sequence.

A special promotional video for the new watch was released on Casio Japan's official YouTube channel. The Casio Baby-G line of watches are known for their shock-resistant and water-resistant structure. Their new Sailor Moon watch is equipped with both of these features, in addition to a backlight and an internal "World-Time" bezel which allows the wearer to view the time in all 24 time zones. The watch has striking gold-colored hands along with small stars and moons decorated on its face. The watchband features an original design which incorporates hearts, stars and moons, and the band ring is printed with a silhouette of Sailor Moon. The watch will be released in August in Japan for around 20,900 yen. This price includes tax and equals about $152 USD according to current exchange rates.

Another notable feature is the engraving of Sailor Moon included on the back of the watch's case. The engraving matches the silhouette featured on the band ring. Included with the watch is a special box and carrying case, both of which are adorned with the same design as is featured on the watchband.

Casio is not the only company this year to collaborate with Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon. Back in June, the Hong-Kong based tech accessory company CASETiFY released an entire Sailor Moon product line which included iPhone cases, AirPod cases, a phone charm, an Apple Watch band, and a Nintendo Switch case. The price range for most of these items is $35-$75 USD.

The Sailor Moon Franchise celebrated its 30th anniversary last year, and the celebration is still ongoing. To commemorate the event, the Japanese apparel company UNIQLO released a new Sailor Moon T-Shirt collection, and on July 1st of this year Tokyo's Roppongi Museum opened its doors to the first "volume" of a special three-volume exhibit featuring over 600 pieces from Naoko Takeuchi, the creator of Sailor Moon. Volume 1 will be open to the public until September, after which Volume 2 will be open from September to November. Volume 3 will debut in November and be open to the public until December.

Another part of Sailor Moon's 30th anniversary celebration was the announcement of Sailor Moon Cosmos, a two-movie duology being produced as the finale to the Sailor Moon Crystal anime series. The two films will be released in 2023. Those who'd like to catch up on Sailor Moon Crystal before the release of Sailor Moon Cosmos can watch the entire series on Crunchyroll.
