Sailor Moon is a show for a number of generations. For many, it was the first anime they watched back in the 90s as a child. And now with its reboot Sailor Moon Crystal, the series has risen in popularity once again.
Many have compared the heroines of Sailor Moon to the zodiac star signs based on their ruling planets. For example, Sailor Jupiter was a Sagittarius and Sailor Neptune was a Pisces. However, while analyzing the characters on a deeper level, it is easy to see that maybe basing them off their ruling planets isn't always correct. Personality and traits are a big definer in the zodiac, so here is a list of what the Sailor Scouts and friends would be. Which hero are you?
12 Aries (March 21-April 19) - Sailor Mars
Sailor Mars is certainly the most fiery of the Sailor Senshi. She has a bit of an explosive personality when it comes to her friends, but appears calm and collected to those on the outside. Like an Aries, Rei will be the first one to jump into a battle, the first one to try to save her friends. As much as she doesn't get along with Usagi sometimes, she would ultimately do anything for her. Sailor Mars also appears to be the most confident out of the main Sailor Senshi. She is bold, courageous, and occasionally hot-headed. Rei also has an impulsive streak as she irregularly flirts with Mamoru directly in front of Usagi.
11 Taurus (April 20-May 20) - Sailor Neptune
Practical, well-ground, reliable, and devoted, Sailor Neptune embodies all of these qualities of the Taurus. She will do anything for her love, Sailor Uranus, including allowing the entire world to be destroyed. She is always surrounded by beauty and love and sees it in all of nature around her. Tauruses are also conservative and stable, which is how Neptune is often portrayed. She appears to be a mysterious and cool beauty to the rest of the Sailor Senshi. Neptune is a devoted lover and often times can come off as stubborn for her love. But really that is just her deep devotion and commitment to Sailor Uranus.
10 Gemini (May 21-June 20) - Sailor Chibi Moon
Chibiusa was quite an easy character to place on this list. As the double-sided Gemini, Chibiusa can be adorable and sweet in one minute and horribly annoying and rude the next. Chibiusa is curious of this time she has fallen into, and even more curious about her parents' youth.
Also on the same note as the twins of Gemini, Chibiusa, and her evil alter ego, Black Lady, act as the two different personalities within Chibi Moon. Black Lady is all the negative aspects of Chibi Moon, all her jealousy, anger, and sass.
9 Cancer (June 21-July 22) - Sailor Moon
Sailor Moon probably has the biggest heart of the entire series. She's an emotional crybaby but will do anything in her power to help those she cares about in any difficult situation they find themselves in. Usagi is highly in touch with her feelings and typically knows what she wants right away. She's also an extremely loyal friend and lover. May characters come in and out of the show that test Usagi's loyalty to Mamoru. People who may even be better suited to Usagi, romantically. But he never wavers, and stays true to herself and the love of her life.
8 Leo (July 23-August 22) - Tuxedo Mask
Tuxedo Mask is one of the proudest characters in Sailor Moon. He seems to always want to be the center of attention, and always appears right when he is needed to save the love of his life, Sailor Moon. Tuxedo Mask comes off as a very bold character. He never does much, always seems to do the exact thing he is needed for. Mamoru is extremely charismatic and has a ton of girls who love him. A third of the Sailor Senshi have crushes on him, and it seems like every villain wants a piece of him.
7 Virgo (August 23-September 22) - Sailor Mercury
Mercury brings order to the wildlife of Sailor Moon. She is by far the planner of the group and comes off as quite shy, like most Virgos happen to. She lives a structured life. If Ami isn't kicking butt with the sailor scouts, she is typically studying for school, with very little free time in between. She does this so much that in the past, she had been bullied and considered stand-offish to schoolmates until Usagi came into her life and dragged her out of her shell. Virgos are also extremely analytical, and as the brains of the group, Mercury fits this star sign more and more.
6 Libra (September 23-October 22) - Sailor Venus
As Sailor V, Minako was the defender of love and justice. Like the scales of justice, Sailor Venus weighs the intent behind good and evil and always fights the villains in the name of love.
Venus is also one of the most cooperative members of the Sailor Senshi, she gets along with everyone really well and can oftentimes be seen as the peacekeeper between Usagi and Rei when they get into their arguments.
5 Scorpio (October 23-November 21) - Sailor Uranus
Scorpios are resourceful and brave, and this Sailor Senshi are those two qualities embodied. Uranus not only has unique abilities like the rest of the Senshi, but she also can (and frequently) wields a sword in combat. She is skilled in a number of ways, both as Sailor Uranus and as Haruka. Uranus is oftentimes driven by her emotions and what she feels is right and wrong. She and Neptune typically have a different goal than the other Sailor Senshi, occasionally acting as an opposing force. When she first entered the show, everyone was amazed by how calm, cool, and collected she appeared.
4 Sagittarius (November 22-December 21) - Luna
Luna is the advisor to Sailor Moon, and appears to be Sailor Moon's closest friend. She sometimes is harsh with Usagi but never goes too far, always being as honest as possible, even if its something that wants to go unheard. She is adventurous, curious, and generous. Like a Sagitarrius, Luna is incredibly open-minded and optimistic. She even helps Sailor Moon discover unique ways to fight the bizarre foes she faces.
3 Capricorn (December 22-January 19) - Sailor Pluto
Sailor Pluto is the most responsible of the Sailor Senshi, as she was tasked for years to keep guard of the Door of space-time. She was alone during this mission, secluded from the rest of the girls yet still held her ground. Due to this she also holds great self-discipline and control.
Capricorn is the sign that represents time and responsibility, so which better Senshi to pair it with. Sailor Pluto oftentimes appears to be the wisest of the Sailor Senshi and the most independent.
2 Aquarius (January 20-February 18) - Sailor Saturn
With the ability to destroy the Earth with just one move, Sailor Saturn has to be pretty careful and guarded with her emotions and abilities. Hotaru is a Sailor Senshi that comes into the series later than the rest of the cast. Aquariuses are vastly independent beings, they are able to handle tough situations by themselves. In the past life, Saturn stayed far away from the Sailor Millennium, only coming around when she was needed. Hotaru is like this, often time acting as a bit of a loner due to her Earth-ending ability.
1 Pisces (February 19-March 20) - Sailor Jupiter
Sailor Jupiter is the biggest hopeless romantic out of all the Sailor Senshi, even beating out Usagi. In both the original series and Crystal, she is originally perceived by her new classmates as a brawling thug, due to her tall height. However, once Usagi ignores the stereotypes as she does best, she discovers that Makoto is actually just a big softy. She cooks and bakes for those she cares about and dreams of being able to cook for a boy she likes. Pisces are known to daydream and create romances in their heads, they are also known for being emotional and caring deeply for their friends. Makoto fits all of these qualities.
