A new trailer reveals Sailor Moon Cosmos, a two-part movie series that will serve as the conclusion to Sailor Moon Crystal.

Similar to how Sailor Moon Eternal adapted the entire Dream arc into two movies, Sailor Moon Cosmos will tell the story of the fan-favorite Stars arc over the course of two films. The first trailer provides a look at Usagi and her fellow Sailor Scouts, though it is notably missing any appearances from Princess Kakyuu and the Sailor Starlights, who will play a major role in the events of the arc. The trailer does provide a brief glimpse of another one of the arc's new characters, a mysterious young girl named Chibi Chibi. The trailer ends by revealing that both movies are planned to premiere sometime in 2023.

Gatchaman Crowds and Kill La Kill episode director Tomoya Takahashi will helm both films, which will feature a script written by That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime's Kazeyuki Fudeyasu. Kotono Mitsuishi will once again return to voice Usagi Tsukino/Sailor Moon. Mitsuishi has been voicing the character ever since the premiere of its original 1992 anime adaptation, and is also known for providing the voice of Misato Katsuragi in the Neon Genesis Evangelion franchise. The rest of Sailor Moon Crystal's cast and crew are expected to reprise their roles for the final two movies in the series. Casting announcements have not been made for the new characters who will be introduced in this arc.

Sailor Moon Cosmos will be the second time that the Stars arc has been adapted into animation. The arc was previously adapted into 1996's Sailor Moon Sailor Stars, which was the fifth and final season of the original anime series. The original adaptation featured numerous changes from the original manga, which series creator Naoko Takeuchi has publicly voiced her disapproval of.

Sailor Moon Crystal originally premiered in 2014. While still produced by Toei Animation, the studio behind the original 1992 anime series, Crystal is a reboot that aimed to be a more faithful adaptation of Takeuchi's original manga. The franchise is regarded as one of the most influential shojo and magical girl series of all time and has managed to remain popular to this day.

The most recent animated entry in the series, the two-part Sailor Moon Eternal movie series, was released in 2021 and is still available for streaming on Netflix. Takeuchi's original manga is available in English from publisher Kodansha Comics.
