Sailor Moon is not a series known for its powerful weapons, yet the Sailor Guardians come packing with an incredible arsenal of enchanted weapons. By the end of the first season, Usagi Tsukino has enough firepower to obliterate an entire planet. In the manga's second arc, she actually uses it on a planet. These are characters with insurmountable abilities, aided by equipment that helps push them beyond past limitations.

With that in mind, here are the five most powerful pieces of equipment the Sailor Guardians use throughout both the Sailor Moon anime and the manga.

Garnet Rod

Sailor Pluto's Garnet Rod is topped by the Garnet Orb, one of the five Talismen used to summon Sailor Saturn. It also serves as a key for the Space-Time Door, allowing all who use it to access the vast array of time and space. While the Garnet Rod is capable of magical power, its offensive capabilities are only a fraction of its incredible strength.

The Garnet Rod's most impressive ability is its power to freeze time and space. While it remains forbidden for Sailor Pluto to freeze time, the weapon is absolutely one of the most dangerous and powerful in the Sailor Moon universe.

Space Sword

Sailor Uranus

One of the three Talismen instrumental to Sailor Moon's third arc, Sailor Uranus's Space Sword is an incredibly powerful blade capable of splitting any foe to pieces. Its core function is to summon Sailor Saturn, but it is also a particularly lethal physical weapon. With the Space Sword Blaster attack, Uranus can conjure explosive crescent-shaped projectiles to obliterate targets. She uses it multiple times throughout to eradicate adversaries.

Of course, the sword itself has some powerful elemental abilities of its own. It can harness the power of the wind itself, creating some violent hurricane blasts with a mere swing of the blade. The gusts alone are strong enough to scatter all of the Sailor Guardians, as indicated when Uranus was under Cyprine of the Witches 5's mind control.

Silver Crystal

The Silver Crystal is inherently one of the most powerful items in the entire saga of Sailor Moon. It plays a central role in three of the five arcs, managing, in turn, to protect the Silver Millennium long into the future. In the first season, the Crystal is capable of unleashing enough power to eradicate an entire planet in one blast.

We see the Silver Crystal grant immortality and invulnerability to the people of the Silver Millennium, protect Earth from the Dark Moon Clan, and fuel Usagi's incredible power throughout the saga. In the final arc, we learn that the Silver Crystal has been upgraded, becoming Eternal Sailor Moon's Star Seed -- the core of her very soul.

Silence Glaive

The Silence Glaive is a weapon that ends all life in the solar system. Unlike the Silver Crystal, which uses raw magical power, the Silence Glaive is literally powered by the forces of death. The Glaive is powerful enough to repel attacks by Sailor Galaxia and Nehelenia while also generating magical power. Later on, even more spells are cast through the Glaive, such as the Silence Glaive Surprise. However, it's best known for its ultimate attack: Death Reborn Revolution.

While the original anime makes this seem like a weapon with a powerful attack, it's even more absurdly powerful in the manga and Sailor Moon Crystal. Death Reborn Revolution is enacted when Sailor Saturn simply lets her Silence Glaive drop. The sheer power of this spell cannot be overstated. After Queen Serenity's death, Saturn uses it to put an end to the Moon Kingdom, spread across multiple planets. The attack's power is simple: everything she targets with the spell dies. This can be a single entity -- such as the Eldritch Abomination Pharaoh 90 -- or the entire solar system. The attack does kill Sailor Saturn, but she returns in the form of a child after the spell is initiated.

Eternal Tiare & Holy Moon Chalice

Of all Usagi's various weapons, none are as powerful as the Eternal Tiare when equipped with the Holy Moon Chalice. This is the staff that Usagi uses to access the powers of Eternal Sailor Moon, a form capable of generating enough magical power to obliterate the Galaxy Cauldron, where all the material in the universe is birthed.

The Eternal Tiare is further upgraded when the Holy Moon Chalice is planted on top of it, offering Usagi an even more powerful weapon. The Tiare itself isn't inherently powerful like the Silver Crystal or Garnet Orb, but it makes Usagi's magical abilities almost unstoppable. By using this weapon she manages to defeat Sailor Galaxia, a being strong enough to obliterate galaxies. It's impossible to overstate how absurdly powerful the Tiare makes Sailor Moon, which is why it has to be the strongest weapon wielded by the core Guardians.
