In the 1992 magical girl anime Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon, every member of the Sailor Guardians is powerful in their own way. Each of them can perform a variety of special techniques that we love to see. But which of these maneuvers is the strongest?

Well, there are a number of factors to consider when making these assessments. For one thing, what is an attack's success rate? Does it cause sufficient damage? With those criteria in mind, let us take a look at the classic Sailor Moon anime and decide which are the ten most powerful special attacks.

10 Sailor Mars: Fire Soul

Sailor Mars' element is fire and she uses it with great skill. As time goes by, her powers evolved to where she could shape her flames into firebirds, rings, or arrows. However, her most potent ability is still her first one — Fire Soul.

This stream of raw fire emitted from Sailor Mars' hands is not as honed or precise as, say, her Mars Flame Sniper, but its force is undeniable. Not only has Mars killed monsters with it, but she also used it courageously in a sacrificial manner so she could protect Sailor Moon. It's no wonder Sailor Mars used Fire Soul for so long.

9 Sailor Jupiter: Supreme Thunder

Like Sailor Mars' Fire Soul, Sailor Jupiter's Supreme Thunder is her most basic attack. Yet its sheer power is nearly unmatched in the right situation. When Jupiter needs to use Supreme Thunder, she summons lightning from the sky towards the rod in her tiara. Then, she casts the amassed electricity towards her target, causing great damage or shock.

It's not as concentrated as her Sparkling Wide Pressure, but Supreme Thunder has done more harm than her most evolved technique, Jupiter Oak Evolution. If someone wants an extra boost, a Sailor Guardian performing a combo attack with Jupiter's Supreme Thunder is a surefire way to create havoc.

8 Sailor Neptune: Deep Submerge

Like her fellow Outer Sailor Guardians — Sailors Uranus, Pluto, and Saturn — Sailor Neptune was endowed with stronger personal attacks than the Inners. This was done so she and her peers could stop invaders before they reached the Silver Millennium.

Neptune herself has sway over the sea, and she attacks with a sphere of oceanic energy called Deep Submerge. In battle, Neptune has defeated a few enemies with this move, either alone or in conjunction with another Outer's attack. With her "super" upgrade in the last season, Deep Submerge became even stronger. More so when she joined Sailor Galaxia.

7 Sailor Uranus: World Shaking

Sailor Uranus is practically the leader of the Outer Sailor Guardians, which means she has to be pretty strong. That assumption is correct as Sailor Uranus is highly formidable in battle. She can do hand-to-hand as easily as unleash World Shaking — a golden sphere of energy — upon her foes.

Uranus has used this special technique to kill a few monsters. Not every other Sailor Guardian can claim they have finished an enemy off without Sailor Moon's help. When she joined Sailor Galaxia's team, Uranus's powers were augmented, giving World Shaking a substantial power boost.

6 Sailor Moon: Moon Princess Halation

Sailor Moon's Moon Tiara Action failed twice in the war with Ail and An. Luna theorized it was because Usagi was not committed to her revival as Sailor Moon; she subconsciously didn't want to be a Sailor Guardian again. Therefore, her attack would not work. When she was almost done in by a cardian, Usagi found herself in a purgatory-like space where the spirit of her past-life mother, Queen Serenity, granted Usagi new powers. Sailor Moon returned, more confident in her abilities than ever before.

Throughout the second season, Sailor Moon vanquished cardians, droids, and even a giant dragon with Moon Princess Halation. The sheer range and output of this ability make it more daunting compared to her future special attacks.

5 Sailor Moon: Moon Spiral Heart Attack

When Kaolinite's daimon overpowered Sailor Moon's Moon Princess Halation attack and broke her brooch, Usagi was rendered powerless. Unable to transform. With the power of her and Mamoru's love, though, Usagi became Sailor Moon again. She then unveiled Moon Spiral Heart Attack, the finisher intrinsic to her new wand, the Spiral Heart Moon Rod.

Over and over, Sailor Moon crushed daimons with this move; however, on two occasions, Eudial countered it with her Fire Buster flamethrower. Even a daimon managed to neutralize Moon Spiral Heart Attack before Sailor Moon gained Rainbow Moon Heart Ache. Still, Moon Spiral Heart Attack has a steady track record.

4 Sailor Moon: Moon Gorgeous Meditation

When the Dead Moon Circus arrived in town, the Sailor Guardians were faced with enemies who could withstand Sailor Moon's present attack. She was in need of some more power if she wanted to stay ahead of the bad guys. The mystical, flying unicorn Pegasus appeared out of nowhere and gave Sailor Moon what she needed, though. In time, he made Moon's new power permanent.

As successful as Moon Gorgeous Meditation was when it came to defeating the Dead Moon's lemures monsters, it was useless against Zirconia. Then again, a double dose — involving Sailor Chibi-Moon armed with her own Kaleidomoon Scope — was sufficient enough to kill Queen Badiane in the SuperS film. It should be noted, moreover, that in the television continuity, Sailor Moon had no access to Moon Gorgeous Meditation if Pegasus wasn't around.

3 Sailor Saturn: Silence Glaive Surprise

Being the Guardian of Ruin, Sailor Saturn can literally decimate a planet with the drop of her Silence Glaive. She is the Guardian you summon when the world is in peril and hope is no longer available. We are not clear as to what technique Sailor Saturn used to stop Master Pharaoh 90 in the third season because the battle happened off-screen.

In the first arc of the final season, though, Saturn was prepared to kill Queen Nehellenia with Silence Glaive Surprise. A small dose of the world-destroying maneuver shook Nehalennia's castle as well as rattled her. If Sailor Chibi-Moon hadn't interfered, who knows what Saturn could have done at that moment.

2 Sailor Moon: Moon Healing Escalation

It might seem odd to rank Moon Healing Escalation so highly, but we must remember its history. When the Dark Kingdom attacked the Silver Millennium, Queen Serenity sealed away the enemies with Moon Healing Escalation. In the present day, Sailor Moon or Princess Serenity used this for most of the first season. In its simplest form, the incantation activated the healing properties of the Moon Stick. Thus, all villains created by the Dark Kingdom from humans were purified and returned to their normal forms.

Once the Silver Crystal was discovered and attached to the wand, Moon Healing Escalation was enhanced. The phrase merely became a trigger for the Silver Crystal, which was both magically therapeutic as well as destructive. It was the key to unlocking the awesome power of the ancient heirloom.

1 Sailor Moon: Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss

In the anime, Sailor Moon's most advanced form was Eternal Sailor Moon. This was achieved when the four Inner Guardians and the four Outer Guardians merged their strength so that Moon could power up. As Eternal Sailor Moon, she wielded the Eternal Tiare. She used this wand to transform the Sailor Animamates' phages back into regular humans.

When Chibi-Chibi came in contact with the Eternal Tiare, it became the Moon Power Tiare. With a new wand, Eternal Sailor Moon gained Silver Moon Crystal Power Kiss. It was like Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss, but more efficacious. Sailor Moon nearly undid Galaxia's hold on Sailor Tin Nyanko before she got away. In the penultimate episode, Sailor Moon instead performed Silver Moon Crystal Power against Galaxia. It had a sizable effect until Galaxia broke the Tiare.
