Saga is one of the most acclaimed comic book series currently coming out of Image Comics. Currently taking a year-long break following the dramatic events of Issue #54, the Brian K. Vaughan and Fiona Staples series is receiving a new compendium collection that contains the first 50-plus issues of the series.
During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Vaughn revealed that the series is actually only halfway done.
"Fiona and I are excited to finally share with everyone that this compendium represents the first half of our story, a planned 108-issue epic!” said Vaughan. “We’re so grateful to our amazing readers for their support and patience, and we hope this compendium will be the perfect holiday gift to help introduce your loved ones to the continuing adventures of Hazel and her star-crossed family.”
Saga centers around Alana and Marko, a married couple who hail from opposite sides of an intergalactic war. The pair, along with their young daughter Hazel, are on the run from the armies of their home worlds. The marriage is considered an embarrassment to both races, and they intend to make sure the new family doesn't have any impact on the rest of the universe.
