Ufotable has released new art depicting one of the more emotional moments from Demon Slayer - Kimetsu No Yaiba's Mugen Train arc.SPOILERS FOR DEMON SLAYER'S MUGEN TRAIN ARC FOLLOW:Animation studio Ufotable has been releasing new art from the series regularly on the company's official Twitter account, usually to coincide with the release of a new episode in the popular shonen anime series. To celebrate the release of the third episode in the new season, the animation company released two illustrations depicting Tanjiro feeling the effects of Enmu's dream manipulating powers: the first image shows the young demon slayer crying as he dreams of a life where the rest of his family is still alive, and another depicts the moment his reflection pulls him out of Enmu's comforting delusion and back into his harsh reality.
Fans of the series may get similarly emotional when they remember that they will have to wait an extra week for the next episode of the series: the broadcast of Episode 4 of the show's second season has been pre-empted until Nov. 7 in order to allow Japanese TV networks to cover the the country's upcoming elections. Consequently, all further episodes in the Mugen Train arc will also have their release dates pushed back by a week from their original planned airdates as well. The delay will not affect the release of the upcoming Entertainment District arc, which is still scheduled to begin on Dec. 5 with a special hour-long episode.
Demon Slayer's second season premiered on Oct. 10 with an all-new episode that told an original story about how the Flame Hashira, Kyojuro Rengoku, made his way onto the demon controlled Mugen Train. The remaining episodes in the arc are made of re-edited footage from the 2020 Mugen Train movie, but Ufotable has promised that 70 newly animated scenes will be added throughout the story. Following the conclusion of that arc, the entirely brand new and highly anticipated Entertainment District arc will begin. This part of Season 2 will adapt one of the most highly regarded story arcs from Koyoharu Gotouge's original manga, which tells the story of the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, as he investigates a series of possible demon-related disappearances within a city's red light district.
Both Funimation and Crunchyroll are simulcasting new episodes from Season 2 shortly after they are broadcast in Japan. The original season of the anime is available for streaming on both of those services, as well as Netflix, while the Mugen Train movie is streaming exclusively on Funimation.
