Wolverine is the best there is at what he does... and often that's making a whole bunch of enemies. When someone's been around as long as he has, that's not that hard of a proposition. However, some foes are greater than others, the kind of enemies that define a hero. Wolverine has one like that. The feral mutant is known as Sabretooth.

Wolverine and Sabretooth have had some knockdown, drag-out fights over the years, and Sabretooth has made a life's work of doing the worst things possible to Wolverine. However, there's a foe who has come along recently to challenge Sabretooth for his crown as Wolverine's worst enemy: Daken, Wolverine's estranged son.

10 Sabretooth: He'll Do Anything To getting Wolverine

Sabretooth has proven over the years that he will go to any lengths to get a chance to hurt Wolverine. It doesn't matter what it is- Sabretooth will do it. Sabretooth is not an individual known for having any qualms about anything. However, some of the lengths he's going to over the years to get Wolverine have challenged even him.

He's infiltrated the X-Men multiple times, doing his best to play the role of a good guy to get a chance to either hurt Wolverine or hurt Wolverine's friends to cause the Canadian mutant mental distress. He's hunted down Wolverine's loved ones and done terrible things to them. There's literally nothing he wouldn't do to get at Wolverine.

9 Daken: Besmirching His Father's Name

Daken joined up with Norman Osborn's Dark Avengers when Osborn was made head of the Superhero Initiative after the Skrull invasion. For a few reasons, he did it to prove that he was better than his father, but more importantly, to make him look bad. Daken knew that acting as Osborn's Wolverine would give a chance to target his father's friends and jumped at the chance.

Daken did it because he wanted to make his father look bad and also gain some prominence for himself in the world. It doesn't seem like much but ruining his father's reputation is a big deal, especially because of how mutants are looked at in the world.

8 Sabretooth: The Other Weapon X

Sabretooth acted as Weapon X's talent finder for a long time, finding mutants and bringing them into the program. He knew what they were all about, and he made sure he recruited Wolverine into the program. While he knew it would make his enemy more formidable, he also knew that it would do a lot of damage to him, taking away his memories, putting him through a lot of pain, and forcing Wolverine to do things that he would hate.

There were some drawbacks to the whole thing, but in the long run, Weapon X hurt Wolverine more than it did him any good, and Sabretooth was the cause of all of that.

7 Daken: Muramasa Claws

The Muramasa blade was a katana that Wolverine had forged that could kill people with a healing factor. It was his ultimate weapon against someone like Sabretooth and a weapon that could be used against him if he ever went bad and needed to be taken down. Eventually, Daken would get his hands on it and turn it to a new purpose- coating some of his claws with it.

This made those claws able to hurt his father, an extra weapon he could use against him in combat. It served to make Daken more dangerous than he already was to his father while he had them and showed the lengths he would go to.

6 Sabretooth: Wolverine's Biggest Failure

Wolverine has made many mistakes over the years, things that haunt him every night when he's trying to sleep. The biggest failure of his life, though, has been not dealing with Sabretooth definitively. Sabretooth has done many terrible things over the years, and Wolverine blames himself for it because he never was able to kill his foe.

The worst part? Sabretooth knows it. He knows how Wolverine feels about it, and it drives him to do even more terrible things just to hurt Wolverine that much more.

5 Daken: Twisting The Knife

Daken was Wolverine's son with a Japanese woman named Itsu. The Winter Soldier killed Itsu while Wolverine was away, and criminals took in Daken. He hated his father for not being there for him and his mother and eventually went after Logan to get revenge. Wolverine had gotten his memory back, so he knew all about Itsu and Daken and knew exactly what he lost.

Every time he and Daken fought, Daken knew that it hurt Wolverine in more ways than the physical harm he was doing to his father- it opened up emotional wounds and reminded Wolverine just how bad of a husband and father he was.

4 Sabretooth: Birthday Massacre

Sabretooth Growling Looking Fierce

Every year, on Wolverine's birthday, Sabretooth likes to go after him and do something horrible. It started years ago, in the Canadian wilderness- Sabretooth went to his cabin while Wolverine away and sexually assaulted then murdered Silver Fox, the woman Wolverine lived with at the time. The two battled it out, and Wolverine got the worst of it.

This started a yearly tradition, one that turned Wolverine's birthday from a day to look forward to into something he feared, never knowing what Sabretooth was going to do... or who he was going to do it too.

3 Daken: Working For Romulus

Daken

Romulus was revealed to be behind many tribulations in Wolverine's life, a shadowy puppet master pulling all the strings. Daken jumped at the chance to work for Romulus, living for the chance to make his father's life miserable. Daken would end up doing anything that Romulus asked him to, as long as it allowed him to strike out at his father.

While Daken was no stranger to making his plans to hurt his father, he was willing to work for anyone who would give him a chance to hurt his father.

2 Sabretooth: Undying Hatred

Sabretooth Cropped-2

Right now, the mutant race has come together on the island of Krakoa, working together. Wolverine and Daken have even reconciled. Sabretooth himself was on the island but quickly imprisoned for breaking the law. However, one thing is for sure- Sabretooth would never play nice with Wolverine. In fact, as usual, there's a good chance that Sabretooth was only on Krakoa in the first place for the chance to attack Wolverine.

Sabretooth's hatred for Wolverine is undying, and while he might be able to play nice for a while, he's always going to be planning a way to get at Wolverine, to hurt him in any way possible.

1 Daken: The Final Solution

Daken's Brotherhood

Daken's biggest plot against his father involved bringing together a new iteration of Evil Mutants' Brotherhood, including Sabretooth, and kidnapping Genesis, the young clone of Apocalypse. The whole point was to lure Wolverine into a trap that would kill him, and it almost worked. With the help of X-Force, Wolverine was able to turn the tides on Daken and kill his son.

However, even as Wolverine drowned him, Daken knew that it would hurt his father to know that he had to kill his own son, and while he didn't want to die, he felt it was worth it just to hurt his father one last time.
