Preparation is under way on Marvel's S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot, and now we're finally seeing the fruits of it. Some lucky drivers caught a glimpse of the new S.H.I.E.L.D. trucks, presumably en route to the set of Joss Whedon's ABC pilot, which begins filming Tuesday.
Mike Ermalovich (via ComingSoon.net) posted the above picture to Twitter after spotting a S.H.I.E.L.D. truck being driven around Southern California. "I can't wait to sneak on set while they film tonight and watch!" he tweeted. Meanwhile, DiabloRobotico caught a different view.
Whedon is directing the pilot, and is working on additional scripts; ABC apparently is operating under the assumption the project will be picked up to series. ABC Entertainment President Paul Lee recently said S.H.I.E.L.D. is going to be "very Joss."
Targeted for ABC’s fall 2013 lineup, S.H.I.E.L.D. centers on the global espionage and law-enforcement agency that’s helped to provide the connective tissue between the films of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Whedon will direct the pilot, which he co-wrote with his brother Jed Whedon and Jed’s wife Maurissa Tancharoen. The project, which begins filming this month, stars Clark Gregg as fan-favorite Agent Coulson, Ming-Na as Agent Melina May, Elizabeth Henstridge as Agent Gemma Simmons, Iain De Caestecker as Agent Leo Fitz, Brett Dalton as Agent Grant Ward and Chloe Bennett as Skye.
