Ryan Reynolds Seeks A Safe House

As if starring in two high profile comic book properties in Green Lantern and Deadpool (not to mention the developing R.I.P.D.) wasn't already enough, Reynolds is looking to get even busier with a co-starring role opposite Denzel Washington.

According to Deadline, Reynolds is the front runner for a lead role in Safe House, director Daniel Espinosa and screenwriter David Guggenheim's action thriller about a safe house that comes under attack, leaving only one CIA agent and his dangerous prisoner alive. The two must work together to reach safety.

Washington has already signed on for the role of the criminal, while Reynolds is said to be the top choice to play the CIA agent. But it's not a done deal yet — in fact, many of Hollywood's brightest up-and-comers are hoping for a crack at the role, with names including Shia LaBeouf, Taylor Kitsch, Chris Pine, Sam Worthington, Garrett Hedlund, Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, Chris Hemsworth and Jake Gyllenhaal. With so many players on the field, it's entirely possible that the role will go to someone other than Reynolds.
