WARNING: The following contains minor spoilers for Mortal Kombat, now in theaters and on HBO Max.

The ending of the Mortal Kombat reboot hinted at a potential future appearance for fan-favorite fighter Johnny Cage, and Ryan Reynolds has leveraged that to his advantage.

Reynolds posted a new image to Twitter featuring himself in Cage's trademark shades and jacket to promote his Mint Mobile cellular business. "What do I do with casting rumors and wireless competitors upset that @usnews just named [Mint Mobile] 2021's best cell phone plan?" Reynolds wrote. "Finish 'em!!"

The ad leans into the fact that Twitter users have floated Reynolds' name as a potential candidate for Cage in a Mortal Kombat sequel. WWE Superstar Michael "The Miz" Mizanin has also expressed his desire to play Cage.

Although he was absent in the film, the end of Mortal Kombat features a poster of a Citizen Cage movie starring Cage, with Cole Young heading to Hollywood to find the actor and recruit him to fight in the Mortal Kombat tournament.

Screenwriter Greg Russo previously discussed Cage's absence from the Mortal Kombat reboot, saying that his role would have clashed with that of Black Dragon mercenary Kano. "Once everybody knew Kano would be part of [the story], his personality became really big. Really egotistical. That's Johnny Cage, too. I played with Johnny and Kano in scenes together, and it was too much. It was two identical personalities and it took away from everyone else," he explained.

Directed by Simon McQuoid and produced by James Wan, Mortal Kombat stars Lewis Tan as Cole Young, Jessica McNamee as Sonya Blade, Josh Lawson as Kano, Tadanobu Asano as Lord Raiden, Mehcad Brooks as Jackson "Jax" Bridges, Ludi Lin as Liu Kang, Chin Han as Shang Tsung, Joe Taslim as Bi-Han and Sub-Zero, Hiroyuki Sanada as Hanzo Hasashi and Scorpion, Max Huang as Kung Lao, Sisi Stringer as Mileena, Matilda Kimber as Emily Young and Laura Brent as Allison Young. The film is now in theaters and on HBO Max.
