Deadpool leading man Ryan Reynolds has "revealed" how Deadpool 3 was allowed into the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

"Full disclosure: I showed them Spiderman 1 & 2 and told them it was Deadpool 1 & 2," Reynolds posted on Twitter.

Reynolds' post is in response to Kevin Feige's confirmation that Deadpool 3 will both be rated R and set inside the MCU. "It will be rated R and we are working on a script right now, and Ryan's overseeing a script right now… It will not be [filming] this year," Feige said. "Ryan is a very busy, very successful actor. We've got a number of things we've already announced that we now have to make, but it's exciting for it to have begun."

Deadpool 3 being an R-rated affair was first reported in November 2020 alongside news that Bob's Burgers writers Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin are attached to write after pitching to Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds. While writers and a star are set, it remains unknown who will helm Deadpool 3. The first film was directed by Tim Miller and the second by David Leitch. However, Leitch isn't expected to return due to a packed schedule.

Written by Wendy Molyneux and Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin, Deadpool 3 stars Ryan Reynolds. The film has yet to receive a release date.
